TIMBERLANE

Timberlane is the one who brings knowledge and common sense to the LaCroix family.  He is the oldest son of Khallid and Alana Delanis (his mother was a LaCroix by birth).  He was born on New Year's Day, 1976 and he is a Capricorn.  He is 6'2" and weighs 188 lbs.  Timberlane is best described by the others as an "old soul".  They call him that because he is so cautious about doing things.  He is careful with his words, and is never rushed into anything.  He is the one who is most sensible about everything.  Everyone can always count on Timberlane for a word of wisdom--and he never disappoints.  However, Timberlane is not exactly a people-person; he prefers to spend his spare time in the cellar of his house, where he forges and fixes weapons and other objects for his family and everyone in Palmetto Village and the surrounding towns.  It was he who had forged weapons for his family.  Timberlane sometimes spends his time with Tut and his brother Taro, with whom he is close, but his cellar is where he is most at home.

Timberlane's lessons in life were learned the hard way.  He was 9 years old when the raids occurred.  His father was the first to be killed.  Timberlane and his brother Taro had clung to one another while hiding behind their mother.  Unfortunately, that did not deter the murderous soldiers, who shot their mother to death and took Taro away.  When Timberlane tried to stop them, he was shot in his legs.  From then on--until recently--he has had to spend his life in a wheelchair.  Now that he can walk again, he is eager to experience life without handicaps.  He has also reunited with his brother Taro, and is now attempting to make up for lost time.

Timberlane has loved and lost.  He had loved a young woman named Lydia, whose father was a high-profile judge in Haughton.  Lydia had been forbidden to see Timberlane because of his heritage, but she would visit him anyway.  Timberlane was heartbroken when Lydia was forced to marry a distant cousin a short time later.  This cousin was also the one who had caused Jordan's mother to die at the hands of Nero, Hampton Morrison's chief soldier.  As a result, he and Lydia were forced to leave town--but their children (Nashoba and Tala) were made to remain with the family.  Months later, Lydia returned to see about her children--at which Timberlane was more than elated.  They were going to be married, but Lydia was killed while Timberlane was battling one of Leoshi's demons.  Timberlane was extremely distraught, but he did promise her that he would raise the children as his own.  However, Lydia's father and family were not so eager to let them go, and they had to go back to their mother's family.  Less than a month later, Nashoba and Tala--then only 8 and 6--were abandoned in the middle of Palmetto Forest at dark.  From that moment on, Timberlane has been their sole guardian.

Timberlane has a pet timberwolf named Wolfbane.  Wolfbane was given to Timberlane right after he had lost the use of his legs.  He has trained Wolfbane since it was a pup; as a result, the gray wolf will only obey Timberlane--and maybe Nashoba and Tala.  At night, Wolfbane will always be found sleeping at the foot of its young charges' beds--or guarding them.  There is one other thing about Wolfbane:  its life and Timberlane's life are linked together.  If Timberlane dies, Wolfbane will die.  If Wolfbane is gravely wounded, Timberlane will release it from life.

ABILITIES

Timberlane's place in the Sacred Circle is of earth and creation.  It is Timberlane's duty to make sure that everyone keeps calm in the face of a crisis.  He is also the voice of restriction for Tut, ensuring that he remains focused as leader of the family.

WEAPONS

Timberlane carries a thick walking staff with him wherever he goes.  It is made of oak and is extremely sturdy in any situation.  It also goes without saying that Timberlane also uses this staff to ward off enemies.  In battle, Timberlane swings it like a huge club, twirling and striking opponents furiously and viciously as he attacks.

SUMMONS

"Electromagnetic Waves"--Timberlane will spin his staff in the air, gathering wavelengths of immense power.  He will then slam the staff into the ground and send the waves forth, paralyzing or killing foes.
